Calling all crochet and knitting fans! The Maryland Alpaca and Fleece Festival is one of the best fall fiber events on the East Coast!

There’s really nothing quainter! Spend the day browsing gorgeous hand-dyed yarns for your next project, watch local artisans at work, or just go to pet some adorable alpacas. Whatever your reason for attending, this annual festival will feature dozens of vendors selling crafts, food, and all types of fibers.

This can also be an educational event for your little ones — youth handlers will be showing their animals and will be judged on showmanship and obstacle course performances. Seminars and demonstrations are also scheduled for both days. Learn how a fiber mill makes yarn, or take a class on how to dye fibers. For more information, including how to register for seminars and classes, visit the event website. Some classes may require a fee for materials.
