We’ve hunted down some of the best spots in Montgomery County for veggie burgers!
If you’re into great burgers — but don’t really want all that red meat — then here’s the short list for best spots in MoCo for amazing veggie burgers.
Coastal Flats Restaurant | Gaithersburg
Yes, Coastal Flats might be known for their great crab cakes, but their veggie burger is definitely one to try! It comes with brown rice, rainbow quinoa, black beans, beets, and chipotle mayo — served open-faced on grilled ice box bread. Plus, toppings include tomato, havarti, and guacamole, with a side of fries. For more information about Coastal Flats’ veggie burger, feel free to check out their site.
Smashburger | Rockville
Whether consisting of black bean or turkey, Smashburger can make you a nice of combo of a vegetarian burger with all the toppings and a side of potato fries or veggie frittes to go with it. Located in the heart of Rockville or Route 355 (Rockville Pike to be exact), Smashburger is a newer location to the area. For more information about Smashburger’s vegetarian selections, feel free to check out their menu for the Rockville location.
The Habit Burger Grill | Rockville
A new addition to Rockville, Maryland (Rockville Pike), Habit Burger is a place to get a veggie burger with a side of onion rings and a shake. While Habit’s interesting toppings or tempura green beans are quite the draw, their shakes or malts are to die for. For more information about The Habit Burger Grill, feel free to check out their site.
Fuddruckers | Rockville — Silver Spring
While Fuddruckers may be known as a trusty spot for good, meaty, exotic burgers ( like bison), they have a knack for serving up a pretty good veggie burger as well. With locations in Rockville and Silver Spring, locals or out-of-towners looking for a vegetarian option can experience some “Fudds Favs” with your own choice of toppings. For more information about Fuddrucker’s veggie burger, feel free to check out their menu.
BurgerFi | Silver Spring
With an interesting branding of BurgerFi across the top of the bun, the “VegeFi” Burger consists of crispy quinoa +pure-cut veggie burger, white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Burgerfi sauce on a multi-grain bun, or green style. We think the green style (crisp, hand-cut lettuce instead of a bun) is definitely worth a try, along with urban fries or fries well done! There is also a secret menu item called the “Hippie Veggie” and also “fries limp” which is the opposite of fries well done. For more information about BurgerFi’s veggie burger and other delicious food, feel free to check out their menu.
