ETG Yoga, a local studio in Bel Air, Maryland, is hosting a goat yoga session on Saturday, April 28.

The animal yoga craze has been sweeping the nation, and internet, by storm lately. Cats, dogs, horses, and now goats are the critters of choice for yogis looking to mix it up.

You may wonder: “Will I have tiny hooves massaging my back as I try to balance and reach a deeper state of self-awareness?” Maybe … Anyone who has ever been around goats knows they absolutely LOVE to jump on anything higher than their head. If you sit down, they may climb into your lap or on top of your shoulders. If you do a plank, they could very well stand on your back as if they have just conquered Everest.

They’re fun, bouncy, and rambunctious. Their free spirit will remind you not to take life too seriously. And we can all use the help to de-stress from that boring Friday afternoon meeting, right? They’ll make you laugh and put a smile on your face as Jenna, a Certified Yoga Instructor, guides you through a basic yoga routine. Nothing fancy here so all levels of practice are welcome!

ETG Yoga and Lunar Bay Studio are partnering to bring you this fun experience. Katie Bock is the creator of ETG Yoga, as well as the lead yoga instructor at the studio. According to her bio on the studio’s website, Katie is “a mom, a yogi, a life coach, but most of all a powerful woman.” She started yoga practice eight years ago, and in 2014 began her yoga teacher training. Her message is “to live life, to breathe, and embrace the strength that lives within you.”

The one hour long class takes place on Saturday, April 28 from 3 to 4 p.m. There are 20 spots available, but classes usually sell out so make sure to snag your place on the mat! The cost to attend is $20 for ages 10 and up, while kids ages 5-10 get in for $10. Click here to register.

Meanwhile, don’t mind me, Namaste over here and pet this goat. So snuggly!
